Lack of enough sleep: Eight hours sleep per night is a very good antidote to reduce stress and keep the skin looking young, not getting enough sleep can cause short-term complexion issues like dull skin, dark circles etc. “Sleep is crucial because stress hormones drop to normal levels at night, giving cells time to repair and rejuvenate”.
Smoking: It’s no news that smoking damages the skin, if you give up smoking your skin will start repairing itself but the longer you smoke the more irreversible your skin repair becomes. “Smoking puts stress on the entire body due to the toxic concoction of carbon monoxide, cyanide, tar, formaldehyde and other chemicals which forces the brain to divert vitamins away from the skin to be used elsewhere”. Nicotine can also reduces blood flow to the lower living layer of skin, or dermis, which will result in less oxygen being delivered.
Sugar: Sugar can cause several damages to one’s health as well as the skin. Sugar can cause the skin to lose its strength and flexibility so the skin becomes less elastic and more vulnerable to sun damage.
Popping spots: Popping pimples can make you age fast as it will leave your skin red, raw and eventually leaving spots that can make you look old. Popping pimples can lead to skin irritation and also infections.
